Sheikh Mana Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum founded United Car Rentals (UCR) in 1973. Since then, UCR has been able to sustain a considerable part of the rent-a-car market.
United Car Rentals Co. WLL has been up and running in the Qatar market since 2004. A joint venture between NBK Holding Co. and Wafi Transport LLC, UCR is operating as a one-stop solution dealing in short term car rentals alongside long term car leasing.
