Campbell Adult and Community Education (CACE) Company Information

General information

ABOUT CACE
The Campbell Union High School District (CUHSD) began offering its own adult and community education programs in August 2010. Campbell Adult and Community Education, known as CACE, is an independent, separately funded program of the CUHSD serving the communities of Campbell, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, San Jose, Santa Clara and Saratoga, although CACE welcomes students from throughout the Bay Area. Classes are offered at 10 convenient, transit-accessible locations throughout these communities.

With the global hub of innovation and entrepreneurship as its backdrop, CACE has attracted the best in Silicon Valley faculty and volunteers, who bring real-world experience and industry contacts and expertise to the student experience. Students also enjoy access to the latest in education technology, and the CACE Career Center provides career counseling, placement services and other job-related and academic resources.

Fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), CACE courses are custom-designed to provide adults of all ages and levels of experience with accessible and affordable education options. To accommodate work and family schedules, classes are offered during the day, as well as on evenings and weekends; alternative modes of instruction, including Independent Study (High School Diploma) and Distance Learning (ESL), support motivated students who cannot attend classes onsite.

Funding
Given the crisis in California school funding, all public money CACE receives is dedicated to job preparation, training and career development courses, specifically helping students finish high school, acquire English-language skills, gain citizenship, or build the competitive skills needed to find jobs, be more productive and strengthen the regional economy. Conversely, all of CACE’s community education and adult enrichment classes are supported by student fees.
In keeping with our mission, CACE collaborates with partners including the Campbell Union High School District, West Valley College, Mission Community College and local libraries to address the individual needs and goals of our students. We are always interested in adding new partners to our adult learning community. Please contact CACE Director Dr. Bob Harper [bharper@cuhsd.org]for more information on ways your institution or company can get involved.

Employer Programs
CACE connects with the business community to develop and offer employee-based classes at nominal fees. Courses include GED Test Preparation, Workplace ESL, and other programs based on specific employer needs. We also offer WorkKeys® job skills assessment and certification, a nationally recognized program that demonstrates to employers a student’s readiness for a wide range of jobs.
