The 'Jin Jiang' brand has a long, rich history and first derived from the company's flagship property, the Jin Jiang Hotel. This historic hotel holds roots which date back to the 1920s when a Sichuan lady, Ms. Dong Zhu Jun, opened the Jin Jiang Sichuan Restaurant and Jin Jiang Tea Room in the hotel's present site. On 9th June 1951, the original Cathay building, which previously occupied the infamous restaurant and teahouse, became the Jin Jiang Hotel and was the first state guest house after the founding of new China, and has since entertained over 500 heads of states and government leaders and witnessed numerous historical events. As time passed, a collection of hotels started joining the Jin Jiang family, which continues to grow and flourish.
