健康工房的前身是同治堂，創立於一九八九年，當時售買的傳統涼茶。
於二零零零年，建立健康工房取代同治堂，由傳統涼茶，轉為提供適合都市生活的健康養生飲品。
健康工房希望在日常生活中，為大眾提供以中醫藥智慧為基礎的健康食品及飲品，並且針對不同人士的需要，為他們提供養生產品。
健康工房會隨著季節轉變而提供當造的養生產品。「這個概念來自季節對人體的影響，人體在每個季節都需要不同的支援。」此外，地球逐漸步入天氣兩極化，冬天愈冷、夏天愈熱，令人體難以適應，所以要以不同的食物來平衡。例如秋天是冬夏交替的季節，要進食一些滋潤的食品，夏天要喝清熱的飲品，而冬天則就要喝暖身的產品。
