店名「こわや」について。私の祖父は大工でした。その当時出入りの材木屋から祖母が、製材の切れ端を仕入れて焚き物として売っていたそうです。三河地方だけの方言かもしれませんが、製材の切れ端のことを、木っ端、コッパ、こわ、と言われて、これを販売する炊き物屋をしていたころの名前で、こわ屋と呼ばれていて、祖父が年をとってから道具の手入れができる研ぎ屋を始め、「こわ屋商店」と命名したのが始まりだと聞いています。
