General information
1932年チペワフォールズでチャールズダナーが安い仕事用ブーツを5人の労働者と一緒に作り始め、一足4ドルで売ることから始まる。
1959年、アメリカで初めてビブラムソールを用いたシューズを開発し、ダナーのマウンテントレイルが一番登りやすいブーツとバックパッカー雑誌に取り上げられ、ダナーは ハイキング業界でプレミアなブランドとなりました。
1979年には、靴企業では初めて"ゴアテックス"を使用したシューズを展開し、「ダナー」ブランドは確固たる地位に。
「軽量」で「快適」、１足、１足を厳選された素材で、時間をかけて丹念に手作業でシューズを作り上げる、というスタンスは今でも変わらない。
