General information
Selling children's literature and toys for over 30 years, the Dorothy Butler Children's bookshop stocks fiction and non fiction books for ages 0-19 (and all those who, like us, just love children's books).
We stock books on thousands of themes and subjects, as well as educational material, so feel free to ask us about your Child's particular needs or interests and we will see what we can do.
If a book won't do we also have board and card games, rattles, hand puppets, puzzles, crafts kits and other activities.
We are named after our late founder, Dorothy Butler, a New Zealand children's author, educator and general Kiwi legend, who saw the importance of reading to children and kids always having a range of exciting literature at their wee fingertips. We have a special section of New Zealand picture books as well as picture books in Te Reo.
Conveniently situated at the corner of Jervois and Ponsonby Roads, we offer 90 minutes of free parking behind our shop.
