About BlitzRotary

BlitzRotary is the European headquarter of the Vehicle Service Group. The Blitz, Rotary und Chief brands are combined under the umbrella of BlitzRotary GmbH. The Blitz brand includes truck lifting technology, compressed air technology, tire filling and measuring technology and special tool divisions. The Rotary brand primarily serves the market segment for passenger car lifts. Bodywork repair and measurement systems are manufactured and marketed under the Chief brand. Blitz was founded in Schwenningen am Neckar by Matthias Schneider in 1872 as a repair workshop for precision machinery. However, the growth of the motor industry led to an increasing demand for vehicle repair tools. As a result, Blitz began to produce vehicle jacks, electric air pumps and air compressors. Gradually, from the earlier machine repair business, the following three current fields of expertise were developed: Truck lifting technology, Compressed air technology, Tire filling and measuring technology

Rotary Lift’s story of success started in 1924. Inspired by a barber chair rising in the air, company founder Peter Lunati developed the world’s first vehicle lift. The lift could rotate. This design made it possible for vehicles to drive on and off the lift in forward gear, an important tool considering the frequent problem of reversing at that time. The patent for the lift was granted on September 1, 1925 and Rotary Lift - the company - was born.

Chief Automotive Systems was founded in 1972 and has since emerged as a global leader in the development and manufacture of straightening and measurement systems for vehicle accident repairs. The origins of this success can be traced back to the patented “rack design”, which allows simultaneous force distribution to multiple points on the vehicle. The “multipoint pulling” success story continued just a few years later with the introduction of the revolutionary Genesis measuring system – multiple measuring points can be determined simultaneously during repair. The term “Multipoint measuring” was born.
