General information
The Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF) / Leibniz-Institut Hessische Stiftung Friedens- und Konfliktforschung (HSFK) is Germany’s largest peace research institute and a member of the Leibniz Association.
Our constitution guarantees us full academic freedom. Founded in 1970, our work is directed towards carrying out research on peace and conflicts. Within the scope of our current research program “Just Peace Governance” we analyze to what extent conflicts are determined by matters of justice and under what conditions particular forms of governance enable the peaceful management of justice-related conflicts.
Our researchers have considerable experience in providing political advice and independent consulting, having served, inter alia, in German delegations to NPT, in the UN Advisory Council on Disarmament Matters and in IAEA expert groups.
Our research results are translated into practically orientated options for action that find their way into the public debate.
