Das Institut für aktuelle Kunst an der Hochschule der Bildenden Künste Saar wurde 1993 auf Initiative von Prof. Jo Enzweiler gegründet. Getragen wird es von einem Förderverein. Zweck des Instituts ist die Förderung von Künstlerinnen und Künstlern ebenso wie die Vermittlung von Kunst.
