Das Literaturforum im Brecht-Haus ist in der Chausseestraße 125, der letzten Wohn- und Arbeitsstätte Bertolt Brechts und Helene Weigels, in Berlin Mitte zu finden.

Das Haus ist Treffpunkt für Literatur- und Theaterfreunde und für an Geschichte und Politik interessierte Leser aus dem In- und Ausland. Seit 1992 macht das Literaturforum es sich zur Aufgabe, kritische Debatten über die gesellschaftliche Funktion von Kunst und Kultur zu initiieren und zeitgenössischer Literatur im Spannungsfeld von Geschichte und Gegenwart und in der Auseinandersetzung mit anderen Künsten ein Forum zu bieten.

Ganz im Sinne Bertolt Brechts fördert das Literaturforum den kritischen Diskurs. Im Mittelpunkt stehen Schriftstellerinnen und Schriftsteller mit ihrem Werk sowie wissenschaftliche Arbeiten zu Literatur, Kultur, Gesellschaft und Politik.

Die Veranstaltungen finden im hauseigenen "Kleinen Saal" statt.

The Brecht-Haus is located in Berlin-Mitte, Chaussestraaße 125, which is near the Französischen and the Dorotheenstädtischen cemetary. Famous actors, writers, composers, sculptors and philosophers are buried here. The Brecht-Haus is the last residence and work station of Bertolt Brecht and Helene Weigel. The memorial is located in the same building, interested persons are welcome to visit the living- and working areas and also the Bertolt-Brecht-Archiv- both are institutions of the Akademie der Künste.

The Literaturforum im Brecht-Haus is a meeting place for literature and theatre lovers, but also for people who are interested in history and politics all over the world. Since 1992, we are focusing on writers and dissertations about literature, culture, society and politics. Therefore, we arrange a multitude of presentations, readings, lectures and symposiums and cooperate with numerous science- and culture institutions, publishing companies, magazines, newspapers and external representations of companies overseas. These are, for example,universities, colleges, "Literaturen", "Das Magazin", the Institut Français, the embassies of Chile, Sweden, Switzerland and others.

The events take place at the "Kleiner Saal" and are located in the same building.
Admission: 5€/reduced. 3€ - You cannot buy the tickets in advance! Doors open at 7 pm.
