Recognising that fast, reliable internet connection was no longer a luxury for both homes and busi-nesses, entrepreneur John Fitzgerald founded Internet Anywhere in 2012 to provide a solution. He felt it was unacceptable to have a two-tier internet provision across the UK, with people in rural and hard-to-reach communities struggling to do business efficiently and competitively and families missing out on education and entertainment opportunities.

Since 2012, Internet Anywhere vehicles have put hundreds of thousands of miles on their clocks and provided broadband connectivity for over 500 customers the length and breadth of the UK.

The universal requirement for effective business broadband means that Internet Anywhere’s client base is exceptionally diverse. Customers such as house builders, civil engineers, energy providers or quarriers setting up an operation on a brown or greenfield site too far from the exchange to get traditional broadband, can be up and running online within 3 hours. And for other customers oper-ating from remote sites where broadband connectivity is technically possible, a satellite installation has avoided the inconvenience of waiting weeks to get the appropriate cabling laid.

Internet Anywhere is also used by the NHS for video conferencing from remote communities to ma-jor hospitals, by universities for off-campus research projects, by the Scottish Fire Service for downloading plans of buildings when there is no internet access and by the BBC to test satellites on local mobile units.

And once the satellite broadband system is in place, Internet Anywhere can supply a range of be-spoke systems to enhance the customer’s business operation such as VoIP phone systems, CCTV, video conferencing, network cabling and epos chip ’n ‘ pin devices.

Some customers such as film crews or building site offices may only require a site solution or tem-porary connection and Internet Anywhere can get site communications fully functioning in just 3 hours. In some of these remote locations there may not even be mobile phone coverage so com-munication is virtually impossible and getting reliable broadband connectivity is not just important for communicating with the rest of the company but for keeping staff safe and sites secure too.
