Clare McDonald - Curtainmaker

General information

For almost 15 years, she has been making curtains, roman blinds and associated soft furnishings for private clients, a selection of interior designers and small companies. Her curtains adorn rooms all over Edinburgh and the Borders; Perthshire, northern England and even into Europe.

As a member of the Guild of Master Craftsmen, it is her aim to provide a very personal service where you can feel absolute confidence that your curtains will be made to the highest standards – delivered and hung within a reasonable time frame.

Having just moved into spacious new premises, Clare is now using her workshop in Edinburgh to offer sewing classes and courses where she can pass on her knowledge gained in the industry. As well as being able to hire part of her workroom on a daily basis, she will be running specific soft furnishing and curtain making courses throughout the year. Unlike many sewing workshop classes, you will generally take home your own soft furnishings rather than just making samples.
