General information

About Us

Dr Yuan has trained for over 20 years in Traditional Chinese Medicine. He worked in a hospital in China for 16 years where he trained many Doctors. He now continues to work and study Acupuncture and Herbal treatments in England.

Location

After trading in Doncaster Town Centre, we are currently based in Cantley, just a few minutes from the bus terminus at the top of Goodison Boulevard.

Treatments

We treat conditions holistically where most Western medicines cannot. The traditional Chinese approach we use is different from Western methods, but is still every bit as scientific. We use proven herbs and treatments for ALL Western health concerns.

Here’s a little something to explain Chinese remedies a little better…

The Chinese believe the body has a Ying and a Yang, when there is an imbalance there is in turn an effect.. Ying and Yang work in the body as hormones do. The key is for your practitioner to balance the two to bring harmony to the body.

Chinese remedies are a natural treatment with no adverse affects and are based on the concept that the body is run by channels called meridians which affect different areas of the body. These meridians lead to specific points around the body which affect other areas (because everything is linked). For example you have points in your arms which can help stop nose bleeds or heart pains!

So, Traditional Chinese Medicines treat the whole body, not just the symptoms. Pain in one place will lead to other things being unable to function as optimally.

Another example: you may have stomach pains, acupuncture may be the treatment used, depending on other various symptoms. The doctor may not just put needles in your stomach but also your hands, feet or head!

History

Acupuncture has been used in China for over 4,000 years!

It is still used today in China as a local anaesthetic. It is one of the most successful therapies in complementary medicine. It is a healing method using fine sterile needles in specific points to stimulate channels of energy.

This affects a change in balance of the internal organs, hormones, and immune systems, stimulating healing to restore health.

Acupressure (Medical Massage)

Using manipulative movements and varying degrees of pressure on acupoints, imbalances in the body are corrected and pain relief/harmony in the body’s system is restored..

Cupping Therapy

Cupping is a treatment using glass cups to create a vacuum which pulls the skin into the cup, thus releasing toxins, improving circulation, relieving stiffness, aches and pains. Used with massage and acupuncture this treatment is very effective, it takes one hour for best results as a combination therapy.

Ear-Candle Therapy

This is a relaxing and soothing experience to soften and clear ear wax. The treatment dries out ear fluid and reduces irritation in the ears. It’s also used to de-stress, treat headaches, insomnia, hay fever and tinnitus and maintain well-being.

Reviews

“After a major operation, I then went down with shingles in my head – my GP said it would take 6 months before the pain went. Dr Yuan cured me with 5 sessions of acupuncture and a marvellous massage in a week. Many Thanks” – C.W.

“I came 6 weeks ago with a very painful shoulder. It even stopped me from sleeping. I have had acupuncture and massage and now my shoulder is almost pain free. I am amazed at how much improvement there has been. I also noticed a bruise I had for 3 years on the bottom of my leg had disappeared. I have tried all sorts to get rid of it. I feel much better.” L.T.

“My GP told me to go home and take pain killers. That was three and a half years ago. I have not been able to walk properly all this time. I can now go out and walk properly without being in pain. I would recommend anyone to have this treatment.” Mr. C

Example Treatments (Guillian Barre Syndrome - GBS)

GBS is known to Western medicines as something untreatable. They don't fully understand it and some people spend months or years in hospital under constant monitoring - some never recover.

It often develops after a cold or flu and is a very rare disease which makes the nervous system in the finger tips and toes begin to lose feeling. Often a patient with this syndrome loses all feeling in the tips of their limbs and this numb feeling develops over hours or days until eventually it can reach vital organs and kill a patient.

Dr Yuan can successfully work with these symptoms and SO much more!
