The firm was established in 1873 by Mr Askin and Mr John Gabbitas as an agency for the recruitment of schoolmasters to English public schools. The partnership was later joined by Mr Charles Thring. Still a leader in educational recruitment, Gabbitas today embraces a wealth of expertise on all aspects of education in the UK.

Today we offer personal guidance and expertise at all stages of education, from pre-school to post-university and careers, covering School Selection, Educational Assessments, Interview Techniques and Practice, and Tutors, whether Residential or Home Tutors. Special guidance is offered to overseas students coming to school or university in the UK, while our guardianship service provides comprehensive care and support for children from overseas who attend boarding schools in the UK.

Our experienced staff recruitment division acts for leading schools at home and abroad in the appointment of Heads and staff and as advisers on issues of school management, finance and development. We recruit teachers and tutors for positions throughout the world.
