General information

Shifu Shi Yanzi is one of the 34th generation of fighting monks. At the age of 16 he joined the Shaolin Temple, where he spent 15 years studying and training to become a monk under his master Shi Yong Xin.

During this time he learnt about Ch'an Buddhist culture and philosophy, the healing arts of meditation, qi gong, breathing techniques and all the traditional Ch'an martial arts.

He excelled in Ch'an Buddhist philosophy and two forms of kung fu, the free fighting form of sanshou and steel jacket, the traditional Shaolin internal advanced forms.

In Oct 2014, he was head of the organising team in the UK for the 3rd Shaolin Cultural Festival which included a cinema screening, 2gala dinners, Blue Peter appearance by the Shaolin monks, visits to various religious temples in London, Oxford University visit and 2day event featuring Shaolin martial arts competition, workshops, demonstrations, cultural exhibitions and Zodiac exhibition.

Today, he passes on the knowledge of Shaolin internal and external philosophy and gong fu knowledge to all.

HengDao (Milan), HengJiu (Akin), HengShang (Markus) & HengDi (Bat) all 35th generation disciples of Shifu Yanzi also teach at Shaolintempleuk.

Classes include Shaolin Gong Fu, Sanshou, Meditation, Qigong, Ch'an, Taolu (forms), Weapons, Strength Training and 72 styles.
