Jump For Fun Trampolines Company Information

General information

Jump for fun were established in 2004. Part of the retail group (www.iipgroup.co.uk) who have been in business since 1989. With young children of our own way back then we understood what parents were looking for in trampolines. Number one priority is of course safety, two, value for money three, performance, four, long warranties, and finally after sales support. You can only have safe products if quality components are used. All our products feature the best materials and specifications possible. In 2006 some other brands were failing from weld breaks on the frame, in fact the World's largest trampoline company had a product recall of many thousands. Although Jump For Fun had not experienced problems with this we thought that because of other brands problems if may put a degree of doubt about safety to our own customers. Therefore we decided to eliminate all welds from our products. Extensive R & D saw birth to our patented 'T' sections which join the frame to the legs. Although it was our design, as always others seem to get around patents and now some similar designs can been seen elsewhere. Though some other makes of 'T' sections are in fact still welded together this defeats the object in the first place!Around 2006 the media were in a state of trampoline injury horror. Stories were told in many newspapers etc even though the incidents of children hurting themselves on a trampoline were in fact much lower than that say of bicycle accidents. R.O.S.P.A (Royal Society Of The Prevention of Accidents) reported that around 75% of trampoline related accidents were due to collisions of more than one jumper being on the trampoline at the same time. Our own research concluded that the children were being drawn into the middle where they could collide and indeed possibly injure themselves. Other manufactures reacted with warnings that only one person should be on the trampoline at any given time. We also did of course, but decided this was not enough. We went back to square one to look at different shapes and sizes. A square trampoline? Whatever configuration of springs we tried it simply just wouldn't bounce enough. An oval trampoline? Quite bouncy, but the shape became a nuisance in the thin areas and the jumpers didn't like it after a while. What seemed a good idea became something of a gimmick quite soon. Also jumpers seemed to have trouble controlling the bounce and their directions.A rectagonal trampoline? A good shape as used by gym trampolinists. However, they need big powerful springs. Big powerful springs need a big powerful heavy frame. This could be done, however 1) the weight of the product would be too great for domestic couriers 2) the build cost would put the trampoline above £1,000 and we didn't think that would suit many budgets! You can find a few cheaper rectagonal trampolines around, these are using smaller springs and a therefore a lighter frame, the performance will be pretty poor. So, lastly an octagonal trampoline? It took a while to choose the correct springs for their length, helical circumference and Newton strength. The jump bed R & D seemed to take a decade, but wow, was it worth it! The bounce is better than any round trampoline combo on the market. The jumpers are far less likely to be pulled together in the middle, therefore making it much safer than round trampolines. The large choice of sizes and unique designs makes it easier to fit into the tightest gardens. The OctaJump now represents over 90% of all the trampolines that we sell.Jump For Fun will keep pioneering with new designs and new trampoline products. 2011 sees the launch of our new play den. The first trampoline tent that fits over the existing safety net making it much safer than conventional trampoline tents. We will continue with our commitment to our products in quality, ingenuity and performance to make us stay as the number one UK trampoline company. This along with our commitment to customers and after sales support ensures that you can be assured of the best service available at all times.
