Davies White & Perry’s long history began in 1806 in Newport High Street when Mr Pooler, who had operated on his own for approximately 30 years previous to this, joined with Mr Holland. Mr Pooler had a son and two daughters, sadly the son died at a relatively young age, but the second daughter married Mr Arthur Davies in the late 1800’s who joined his father-in-law in the family business, at which time the firms name was changed to Pooler & Davies.
Mr T White who joined the firm in 1894 was subsequently made a partner in 1914 and remained so until 1940 when he died. Mr R Davies who, after leaving Clifton College in Bristol, joined the Kings Shopshire Light Infantry in 1914 and was badly wounded at Passiondale in 1917, he subsequently joined the firm in 1921.
In 1926 the firm took over Nock & Son of Shifnal, a partner of which Mr A Perry continued in the firm. It was at this time the name was changed to Davies White & Perry.
In January 1951, after coming out of the Royal Navy, Mr J P Davies joined his father in the family business and took over as principal of the firm in 1967 for a further 43 years until his death in 2010.
After completing his professional certification in Oxford, Mr Andrew J Davies joined the firm in 1984 and worked alongside his Father for many years. He was a Surveyor and Partner in the business for 30 years before passing away in 2014.
Mrs Caroline Cross, Andrews Sister, joined the firm in 2000, working alongside her Father and Brother for many years. Caroline is responsible for the fantastic growth of Davies White & Perrys rental department. As the daughter of Mr J P Davies, and the great great grandchild of Mr Pooler, Mrs Cross is now Principle of the firm and continues the fifth generation of the family business.

Residential Lettings:
If you are considering renting out your property we offer a free, no obligation, inspection during which we can discuss your requirements and offer advice as to how best to proceed.
Davies White & Perry will accompany all viewings then all of our prospective tenants are referenced through an external company in order to protect landlords from fraudulent applications, a service that can include a rent protection warranty.
We produce an Assured Shorthold Tenancy Agreement for a minimum period of either 6 or 12 months, which includes an inventory of contents and lodge deposits with TDS.
We offer a non-management service for a single arrangement fee which includes marketing and advertising of the property in order to find a tenant, arranging references, and the drawing up of a Assured Shorthold Tenancy Agreement to be signed along with collection of the deposit and the first months rent.
OR we offer a full management rervice for a one-off arrangement fee in addition to a small percentage of each months rent thereafter which includes all of the above but also so much more! As the managing agents we will take all the hassle away, deal with any queries or repairs as they arise (up to a maximum cost agreed with you beforehand), ensure all correct checks are carried out and certified and legislation adhered to, we will also collect (and chase if necessary) the rent then account out to you.
