The Parasol Project

General information

Parasol recruits and trains a team of Enablers who support disabled children into mainstream playschemes within Oxford city during the school holidays.

Through membership of a variety of statutory and voluntary committees we actively challenge organisations, policy makers and institutional practice where there is inequality of opportunity for these young people and their families.

Parasol activities are open to ALL children and young people aged 5 – 19 regardless of ability. A great deal of attention is paid to making these activities inclusive.

Parasol offers specific support for children and young people who have a physical impairment, learning difficulty or other social need and who wish to take part in inclusive play or leisure activities.

Parasol can also be accessed by individuals and organisations who require training, information, advice or support about inclusive play and leisure activities.
