‘Lanercost’ is a tea room and restaurant, with a gift shop and the Hadrian’s Wall Gateway Visitor Information Centre. We’re in converted and lovingly restored outbuildings to the original Abbey Farm situated next to Lanercost Priory. Open now: 'Bark & Brew' dog friendly indoor seating area.
Our tea room is the heart of the business with seating for around 70 people inside and outdoor seating on the terrace when the sun shines. We are open for morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea every day from 9.30 until 5.00. Our relaxed dining means we welcome everyone for whatever takes their fancy throughout the day.
Add to this a little retail therapy with our gift shop and its range of decorative and fashion accessories, with local jams, preserves and beer and of course our Hadrian’s Wall souvenirs and books.
Don't miss our Hadrian’s Wall Gateway Visitor Information Centre which aims to give you an idea of where you are and what there is to see, do and visit locally. We are a great place to start your journey through Hadrian’s Wall Country.
