General information
The story of The Bell stretches back to 1560 when it was a rather showy Tudor building. When we found The Bell, it was crying out for a little tender loving care. So, we have smoothed out the rougher edges but preserved the wonderful imperfections that somehow make it perfect.
And now we celebrate local produce in all its natural glory. The food we serve is all about flavour, authenticity and respect. Our cellar holds outstanding and occasionally surprising wines. Harvey’s is on tap and you'll always find a couple of other local ales available too
Each one of our seven bedrooms tells a story, it’s hard to choose. There's a sinfully comfortable bed in every room – that and a silver birch tree.Then there are three lodges and the fabulous Love nest, all built around a fire pit in the award-winning garden.
We have furnished The Bell with old tables and chairs, found objects, simple things done well.
That’s The Bell. It all adds up to something that’s familiar yet mysterious, cosy but not sleepy.
