Inner Sense

General information

InnerSense was founded in 2006 and has been running as an arts charity since May 2007. InnerSense is a unique charity running a termly programme of life-enriching, multisensory theatre workshops for people with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs. We work with around 100 disabled participants aged 5-70 and their carers on a weekly basis. The workshops take place in our bespoke performance studio in Bracknell, with participants coming to us from across Berkshire, Surrey and Hampshire. Each week we transform the studio into a new theatrical environment filled with different props, instruments, costumes, characters and sets, designed to inspire the creative talents of our participants. Our skilled practitioners take groups of up to ten participants into the studio at a time, where they are sensitively encouraged to participate and explore the world around them, creating moments of theatre. In our workshops, people who rarely speak are inspired to sing, those who rarely move to dance, and those who are usually trapped in their own worlds break free.
