THE HAIRDRESSING APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME:


• Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing (Intermediate Apprenticeship) or Level
NVQ in Barbering
3 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing (Advanced Apprenticeship)
• English and maths in a Hairdressing context
• Employees understanding of company and legislative policy
• Team-work and creativity

During the NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing, the HTA Apprentice will be trained in the following fields:

• Ensure responsibility and accountability for actions to minimize the risks to
health and safety
• Give customers a good impression of your organization
• Relationship-building with client
• Shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp
• Hair-colouring
• Style and finish hair
• Set and dress hair
• Cut hair using basic techniques
• Performing reception duties
• Develop and maintain your effectiveness on work

During the NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing, the HTA Apprentice will be trained in the following fields:

• Monitor procedures to control work operation
• Promote additional services to customers
• Provide hair-dressing consultation services
• Cut hair with a combination of techniques
• Hair-Colouring using different styles
• Provide colour-correction services
• Dress hair with creative styles
• Dress long hair creatively

Moreover, the Apprentices will be able to develop the skills like, self-management, relationship-building with clients, managing the workplace, and techniques which will support their self-directed learning.

NVQ2 HAIRDRESSING APPRENTICESHIPS
The Apprenticeship in Hairdressing [NVQ 2] is for those who are interested in beginning a career in a vibrant and creative Industry, You will study all aspects of hairdressing one day a week in our state of the art salon within one of our three academies alongside continuing to perfect your skills in your salon.
The units are selected on the basis of relevance to the industry and the employability value:
Shampoo & Condition Hair - apply all types of shampoo & conditioning products, using various massage techniques
Style & Finish - working on different hair lengths you will use various tools and blow drying techniques to straighten and smooth the hair, create volume and curl
Change Hair Colour - you will learn to apply a re-growth and full head application of permanent colour and application of woven highlights
Set & Dress Hair - use various types of setting and dressing techniques to create rolled effects, smooth effects and curled effects
Cut Hair Using Basic Techniques - one length, layered and graduated cuts, including scissor over comb

BARBERING:
NVQ Level 2 in Barbering – Course Content
There are six mandatory units with the remainder of the qualification made up of optional units which are selected with the course tutor and employer to suit business needs:
• Cutting
• Shampooing
• Styling
• Cutting facial hair
• Consultation
• Health and safety
Optional
• Creating basic patterns in hair
• Customer care
• Promoting products and services
• Colouring

NVQ3 HAIRDRESSING APPRENTICESHIPS
The Apprenticeship in Hairdressing [NVQ 3] is for those who have completed their Level 2 and want to enhance their skills and take on a more responsible position in their salon and will work to becoming a senior stylist. You will study all aspects of hairdressing one day a week in our state of the art salon within one of our three academies alongside continuing to master your hairdressing skills in your salon.
The units are selected on the basis of relevance to the industry and the employability value.
These are some of the creative units you will undertake:
Contribute to the Planning & Implementation of Promotional Activities - plan an activity such as the hairdressing competition and implement it
Creatively cut hair - creating restyle cuts including a precision cut
Colour hair using a variety of techniques & Colour Correction - lightening hair and use of toners, resolve basic colour problems, creative colour techniques and corrective colouring using different types of products
Creatively styling and dressing long hair - using conventional and non-conventional items and the use of accessories and added hair
