Why do we do what we do? Below is a brief answer to that question by Owen Davies, our managing director, who set up the business at the age of just 22...

"For as long as I can remember I have protested against injustice and deceit. Quite simply, I hate people being ripped off for another person’s gain. My affiliation with the business energy market started in the office of a small accountancy firm when the realisation that some businesses were paying 10 pence per unit for their electricity whilst others were paying 15 pence instigated my personal characteristics to kick in. After much research and ‘secret shopper’ exercises I discovered something that deeply unsettled me. Whilst from time to time the disparity between charges is down to the supplier trying to maximise their margins, in many cases the brokers – who claim to work to help the business concerned find the best deal – are a major contributing factor. Why? The simple answer is commission. Commission and greed to maximise this commission without, despite the claims, a care in the world for the business they are supposedly helping. This annoyed me, yet made my eyes light up at the opportunity. The opportunity to create a company that truly works in the interests of the customer by focusing on client savings rather than commission and making customer service and client retention top priority.
