Kirkstall is a new company based in Sheffield UK.
The company’s mission is to replace much of the testing currently carried out on animals by better, more accurate and cheaper methods. Our approach is to use in-vitro (literally in-glass or test tube) methods. In order to be successful we have to improve current in-vitro methods so that they behave much closer to what happens inside the human body. Our proprietary technology (Quasi-Vivo®) does this by providing a 3D environment for cells to grow in, just like tissue in a real body, and then stimulating the cells with flow of nutrient that mimics the flow of blood.
