R.A.R.E. è la prima Associazione in Italia che si occupa di tutela, recupero e valorizzazione delle razze-popolazioni autoctone di interesse zootecnico in pericolo di estinzione. Nata nel 2002 senza scopo di lucro, ha carattere culturale, ambientalista e scientifico. Promuove attività educative a tutti i livelli, acquisisce e divulga informazioni sulle razze e sul loro ruolo socio-economico. R.A.R.E. è affiliata alla Fondazione europea SAVE
