1910.gada 4.septembrī tirgus no Rožu laukuma tika pārcelts uz tā tagadējo atrašanās vietu Kuršu laukumā. Mūsdienās 100 gadus senais Skārnis vēl aizvien ir Liepājas lielākais tirgus. Paviljonu projektējis arhitekts L.Melvils. Skārņa ēkai bija tam laikam ļoti novatorisks veidols un jumta izbūve ar lielajiem logiem nodrošināja labu apgaismojumu.
