Manzanos Wines

General information

Bodegas Manzanos es el buque insignia de Manzanos Wines, la empresa donde se elaboran y embotellan algunas de sus marcas de la DOCa Rioja. Se encuentra situada en la llamada “Rioja del Reyno”, en Azagra (Navarra), rodeada por un mar de viñedos propiedad de la familia Fernández de Manzanos.

Esta bodega, al estilo château, se empezó a construir en el año 2002 pero no fue hasta 2007 cuando se comenzó a trabajar en ella. El diseño fue ideado por Víctor Fernández de Manzanos Pastor, padre del actual CEO, quien creó la bodega perfecta para garantizar la máxima calidad del vino ayudándose de la arquitectura.

Las bodegas se encuentran en lo alto de una pequeña colina alejada del núcleo del pueblo. Su ubicación es perfecta ya que al estar en alto permitió llevar a cabo el diseño de las cuatro plantas subterráneas para depósitos de hormigón y que cada planta acogiera un proceso distinto de la elaboración del vino. De esta forma, el vino desciende de una planta a otra ayudándose de la gravedad y, así, se evita la manipulación por bombeo.

Bodegas Manzanos is the flagship of Manzanos Wines, the company in which some brands of the Rioja appellation are elaborated and bottled. It is located in what is called as “Rioja del Reyno”, in Azagra (Navarra), surrounded by loads of vineyards property of Manzanos family.

This château style winery was first built in 2002, but it was not until 2007 when the work started to be carried out in here. It was designed by Victor Fernández de Manzanos Pastor, the father of the current CEO. He created a perfect winery to guarantee the best quality of the wine, with the help of the architecture.

The winery is placed on the top of a hill, far from the center of the village. Its location is perfect since the fact of being on the top made possible the design of the four underground floors, each one for a different process. This way, the wine comes down from one floor to the next one thanks to the gravity. This makes possible to avoid pumping the wine.
