Constituée essentiellement de peintures, de sculptures, de dessins, mais aussi d’affiches et de photographies, elle comporte des chefs-d’oeuvre assurant sa renommée internationale et illustre les principaux courants de l’art belge et européen depuis l’art ancien jusqu’à l’art actuel. Les XIXe e t XXe siècles y occupent notamment une large place.

De Gemeente Elsene nodigt u uit om zijn belangrijke kunstcollectie te komen ontdekken. Ze bestaat hoofdzakelijk uit schilderijen, beeldhouwwerken en tekeningen, en bevat tevens prachtige affiches en foto’s. Het museum heeft zijn internationale uitstraling te danken aan talrijke topwerken die representatief zijn voor voornaamste Belgische en Europese kunststromingen, van de oude tot de actuele kunst. Vooral de 19e en 20e eeuw nemen er een belangrijke plaats in.
Het hele jaar door organiseert het Museum originele en prestigieuze tentoonstellingen. Met zijn aantrekkelijke omgeving, zijn aangename parcours en de talrijke activiteiten is een bezoek aan het Museum altijd een unieke belevenis. Veel kijkgenot!
