General information

KNS Window Fashions began in 1981 as Kitch N Stitch Draperies serving the Leduc and Edmonton areas. Originally Kitch N Stitch sold many items for the home, from pots and pans, to fabrics and sewing machines. Hence the unique name.

On July 1, 1983, Randall & Edythe Brown purchased Kitch N Stitch Draperies and streamlined the business into a window covering store specializing in custom window blinds, and draperies. The new Kitch N Stitch was an immediate success, featuring the latest innovations and designs in the industry. The small but well designed showroom featured thousands of drapery fabrics and many innovative window and wall displays, and the store. Randall and Edythe operated at the original location for twelve years, until they moved the business to their current location at 102, 5908-50 Street in Leduc.

The new Kitch N Stitch superstore opened in the summer of 1995! With 3600 square feet of showroom, and on site workroom facilities, allows their customers a window covering shopping experience that is rather unique to the industry. Here you can see, touch, and work with the fabrics, and various window blinds and shades, with all custom drapery treatments fabricated at the same site by their experienced staff all local residents by the way! Edythe’s and Randall philosophy has always been to keep their showroom fresh, well lit, and up to date. The on site displays are constantly being updated, with the latest innovations such as motorization, and the newest “Green Fabrics”.

We are proud suppliers of Hunter Douglas, Levolor, and Graber window coverings, as well as fine fabric distributers such as Kravet, Roberta Allen, Maxwell, Joanne fabrics. In fact you will find one of the largest selections of drapery fabrics and decorative drapery hardware in Alberta!

In March of 2009 we decided to update the outside of the business. Kitch N Stitch Draperies became KNS Window Fashions! New name and new sign but the same knowledgeable staff, attitudes, and business sense they have developed over the past 27 years.
