Though the store name is newer Rick’s Sports is loaded with experience and history in the Monroe County, MI area. Rick’s Sports is located and took over the retailing at the former location of Cook’s Sportland which was an icon in the area for over 50 years (since 1954!). Rick’s Sports owner Rick Benson, a.k.a. the “Cook’s Guy”, worked with Cook’s Sportland for over 22 years and is considered the local expert when it comes to team and school sports equipment and custom apparel.
For sporting goods everything from baseball glove repair, team uniforms, Boy Scout and Girl Scout gear to varsity jackets are available from Rick’s Sports. For outdoor enthusiast Rick’s Sports offers guns, gun service, ammunition, fishing gear, crossbows and hunting supplies.
