At Neuroclinic Barrie, we train the brain, in a non-invasive manner, to let go of the "survival mode" (fight-flight or fright) patterns & facilitate new "developmental mode" patterns allowing life to progress toward mature “brain self-regulation”.
Emotional and Behavioral Needs: the Attention Deficit, Anxiety, Anger, Headache, Attachment, Depression, Addiction, Post Traumatic Stress problems are rooted in unresolved childhood reactions to threatening situations which keep the person as a "terrified child" throughout life. The resulting deep rooted anxiety leads to more complex problems, holding back the maturing process of the central nervous system. Sleep problems are often linked to these deeper needs for "core calmness". Yes, there is hope.
Academic Needs and Tutoring: our reading therapists address reading, writing and math difficulties. In order to address the deeper reading challenges called dyslexia, we are certified to offer an Orton-Gillingham approach which is recognized by all the dyslexia associations.
