General information

Since our inception in May of 1974, Buckhorn Yacht Harbour has grown from a three-boat marina to presently storing over 200 boats and watercraft and servicing thousands more annually.

Among them are 51 covered slips mooring boats up to 45 feet in length. All slips have 30 and/or 50 amp service available, as well as private washrooms, showers and a large club house.

With our spacious lawns and well-groomed gardens and shrubbery, Buckhorn Yacht Harbour creates a very comfortable and pleasant atmosphere for permanent tenants and for transients who happen to stay for a night or two.

Over the years, the Fuderer family has created and still manages all the various service departments one could need for a boat. Staffed with experienced and professional people, Buckhorn Yacht Harbour is known as one of the most recognized and respected names in the marine industry.

Service Department:
Our Service Department boasts five full time, experienced mechanics. Among them are two technicians who hold Master Mechanic status at Mercury Marine and both have over 35 years’ experience in marine mechanics.

We are qualified to work on anything from personal watercraft to the largest inboard engines (gas or diesel). Our five technicians are familiar with all manufacturers’ products and accessories. We are also a preferred warranty centre for Mercury Marine and are listed as one of the top six marinas in Ontario by the Marine Insurance Companies.

At Buckhorn Yacht Harbour, we realize the importance of ongoing training to keep up with rapid changes in technology. All five of our technicians attend several classes each winter at both Mercury Marine and Volvo Penta® training facilities.

Kawartha Propeller:

The addition of Kawartha Propeller in 1980 added a significant dimension to the meaning of "Full Service Marina" for Buckhorn Yacht Harbour.

Established in the early 1960s by Orville Smith, Kawartha Prop has grown from a one-man shop to 11 propeller technicians, office staff and 5 pickup and delivery trucks. We travel all over Ontario to service and supply propellers, make lower unit repairs, and offer sales and service for all inboard hardware to over 250 marinas and individual boaters alike.

The precision and quality of repair that goes into each and every item has led to an ever-growing reputation that is generously supported by word of mouth. Repairs will exceed original performance levels, as is so often mentioned by our satisfied customers. Call us about prop repair today.

Custom Canvas and Upholstery:

Onsite here at Buckhorn Yacht Harbour is a modern, 4,200 square foot canvas and upholstery shop. Our experienced staff will custom-make tonneau covers, full convertible tops, camper backs, mooring covers, sunscreen windows, Florida rooms, awnings, etc. Just about anything you can imagine, replacing cushions in vinyl or leathers, replacing carpeting or just repairing your existing materials is all our expertise.

We can help you design and customize your next project because we have the benefit of years of experience in building boat tops and enclosures. We can also show you some of our workmanship, as many of our projects moor their boats here at the marina.

Fiberglass:

Whether you need structural repairs, cosmetics or putting a showroom shine on your boat, we do it all onsite here at Buckhorn Yacht Harbour.

Storage Facilities:

Fifty-one well maintained and outfitted covered slips offer your boat a secure and protected environment. The benefits of a covered slip are obvious. Don’t let yourself and your boat be subjected to the elements when it’s not necessary.

All slips come with either 30 or 50 amp service, fresh drinking water and a dock box. Clean washrooms and showers, large lawns, private beach, a luxurious clubhouse – all of these give Buckhorn Yacht Harbour the reputation of one of the nicest marinas anywhere.

Four separate Fuderer families live on the premises, adding security for your boat and its contents. There’s always someone on the property, year-round.

Summer and winter storage is also available for smaller boats, either in our 3-level stacker building or in our locked compound. If you’d like to know more about our storage options, give us a call.

Our fiberglass repair facility enables us to replace transoms and floors. We perform osmosis repair on hulls and detail interior and exteriors of boats. Gel coat repair and colour matching – all is possible here on one site.
