Bio of Dr. Arvinder (Daisy) Uppal:

Dr. Arvinder Uppal received her medical degree from Albany Medical College in 1995. The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) recognized her twice during her residency by awarding her with the Musculoskeletal Research Trainee prize in 1997 and the Roentgen Resident/Fellow Research Award in 1999. She completed her Diagnostic Radiology Residency at Albany Medical Center in June 2000 and was admitted as a Fellow of Body MR/CT/US at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland in July 2000. Prior to entering medical school, Dr. Uppal was a 1991 Biomedical Services Ph.D. candidate in the School of Public Health State University of New York at Albany.
Special Skills: Musculoskeletal radiology, MR Arthrography, Body MR imaging including MR Enterography and MR Defecography, Pelvic MRI and Coronary CT Angiography.

Dr. Uppal founded Charter Radiology in 2014. Charter Radiology is radiologist owned and managed. Understanding the unique role that radiologist plays in patient care and management providing consultation to referring physicians. Dr. Uppal served as the medical director at KMH Healthcare Maryland, Body Imaging Instructor in early 2001 and later appointed Clinical Associate Professor of Body MR/CT/US at The Johns Hopkins Hospital from 2001 to 2003. Dr. Uppal brought her musculoskeletal experience to the American Radiology Services, Inc. in 2003. During her eight year tenure at American Radiology Services, Inc., Dr. Uppal served as an American Radiology Partner and Board Member (2003 - 2011) as well as Medical Director of the Howard County Of f ice of American Radiology Services (2003 - 2008) and Director of Computed Tomography (2004 - 2011).

Active in the medical community, Dr. Uppal served as Radiology Chairperson at Howard County General Hospital (Johns Hopkins Medicine) from 2005 - 2007. She was a Nighthawk reader with American Radiology Services and for more than 6 years provided referral based body MRI and musculoskeletal MRI readings for many Orthopedic Oncology and General Medicine referring physicians. Dr. Uppal has contributed to numerous scientific research studies, publications, paper presentations and offers CME’s on a wide range of topics related to MR Arthrography of the joints, musculoskeletal imaging and body MR imaging is of special interest to her.
