Metropolitan Toronto is one of the fastest growing multicultural communities in the world. Toronto's CIRV FM has evolved in order to meet the needs of its growing communities by delivering to it's listeners
informative and up to date programming.
CIRV RADIO has been broadcasting in the Toronto area since June 1st,1986. On April 12th,1993 CIRV RADIO was granted by the CRTC a class A license to change the
frequency to 88.9FM, to increase power and to move the antenna/transmitter site to the top of the First Canadian Place. This new license granted to CIRV FM increased its
coverage contour from the Toronto area to cover the complete southern Ontario Golden Horseshoe. CIRV RADIO'S international programming currently broadcasting in twelve languages helps to bridge the gap of those communities by meeting the needs of its
individual groups. At CIRV 88.9FM, there is an ideology of integration that helps to orient the listeners towards the Canadian way of living. CIRV 88.9FM, means reaching out to our many cultures and penetrating to a vertical market that mainstream radio cannot
offer. Modern and forward thinking are constant themes that keep 88.9 CIRV
FM programming towards the future.
