Gates Security provides professional security services to protect clients quality of life and business continuity. Founded in 2000 by Scott Wagenseller in Pacific Palisades, the company has established a sterling reputation for effective and reliable electronic and physical security measures for personal safety, property protection and special event success. Few firms throughout the nation bring together the breadth of security services involving state of the art technology, professional protection specialists and planning.

With a decade old vision and business plan in hand, Wagenseller set off to create a private security firm that installs, monitors and maintains alarm and camera systems, access control and provides 24 hour patrol and response services for homeowners, businesses, schools and government entities. Included is a training academy for in service and continuing education.

Armed with one patrol car and two bikes, the company first started providing 24-hour patrol and alarm response services in Pacific Palisades. The company has grown to include alarms, access control and security camera services; security and firearms training and 24-hour patrol/response services in Los Angeles county and Ventura county.

The corporate focus has always been on service capabilities and quality. The company continues to recruit skilled alarm/camera technicians to install and maintain the next generation of alarms and camera systems. The company is on the forefront of home and facility management and automation with integrated alarms and camera surveillance for our clients to manage on any cellular phone, computer or tablet. Gates Security is a Security Pro Dealer with UTC/Interlogix.

As the company grows in patrol capabilities, adding areas such as Brentwood, Malibu, Conejo Valley, and Santa Monica, so do the platforms and methods for patrolling. Bike patrol, canine units, 4×4 trucks, and motorcycles help patrol officers to protect our clients and their assets. The company secures two dozen public and private schools, supervises over 500 acres of public and private park-lands and deploys bike patrol teams in commercial zones.

The company provides security services tailored for special events, schools and parkland patrol. Gates Security has provided security and operational support for parades, concerts, multi-day festivals, corporate parties, public celebrations and political campaigns.

Communications and computing power has gone through several generations of technology resulting in more coverage and compatibility with public safety agencies in multiple jurisdictions. Our patrol officers have more communication capabilities than many neighboring public safety agencies. Gates Security has the only proprietary communications system that connects our patrol officers with our own digital 24 hour dispatch and monitoring center in Pacific Palisades.

The company utilizes an ‘urban ranger theme’ in appearance and capabilities, being prepared to handle many types of situations that disrupt the quality of life or threaten the safety of our clients. In short the company is, “Prepared to Protect.”
