History of Christiansen’s:
H. Christiansen Company was founded in 1886 by Hans Christiansen. Originally the company supported the Commercial Fishing industry on Lake Superior by providing fishing and other supplies to remote fishing villages around the lake. Christiansen’s based itself in Duluth, MN and was run from the vessel Winyah, since no road access was available along the shores of Lake Superior. As the area developed, the company concentrated its efforts on the fish net business and expanded the business into other netting products.

Duluth Fish Nets continues to support the fishing industry by providing superior products to the commercial and aquaculture fishing industries. In addition, we have expanded our services and expertise to the natural resource managers across North America and the world. Our vast experience in various fisheries allows us to assist customers with new and continued fishery management plans.

Duluth Fish Nets intimate knowledge and experience with netting has expanded into the sports net industry. Duluth Fish Nets manufactures standard and custom sports netting from at home golf range nets, to barrier and protective netting at baseball parks and sporting stadiums.
