General information

I am a qualified Gestalt counsellor and psychotherapist practicing in Bristol (Stokes Croft and Eastville).
I offer a reduced cost introductory meeting.

I provide a safe, confidential relationship of earned trust within which you can explore the issues that feel important to you. I will support you to be present with whatever feels difficult, stuck and unresolved. When you meet your experience with compassion and openness, change and growth occurs naturally. This process involves getting in touch with your strengths and resources as well as attending to difficulties. It is a journey of recovering, discovering and deepening qualities within you such as vitality, confidence, wisdom, creativity, joy and love.

I have experience of working with a wide range of issues. The areas that I specialise in are depression, anxiety, abuse, low self-esteem and relationship issues. I work both shorter-term (counselling) and longer-term (psychotherapy). As my approach is holistic it includes working with the body ('body process'). This can include working with touch if we both feel that may be helpful and appropriate. I always ask for permission before making any kind of therapeutic physical contact.

I also offer Couples Counselling and Tango Couples Therapy, an alternative, dance-oriented approach. I have an extensive background in meditation practice, including mindfulness, which I draw upon in my therapeutic practice as and when needed.

I have worked in a wide range of settings across the private, public and voluntary sectors including a charity for Disabled People in Torquay, the NHS in Exeter and as a counsellor in a G.P. surgery.
