Seacourt Tennis Club

General information

Seacourt is Hayling Island's premier Racket sport venue.

When a small group of Hayling residents rescued one of only a handful of the world's Real Tennis courts in 1966, they created a unique rackets club with a unique atmosphere. The team at Seacourt have been keeping the spirit of that club alive ever since.

Real Tennis
Real tennis is the original racket sport from which the modern game of lawn tennis is descended and only a small number of active courts still remain in the United Kingdom, Australia, United States and France. One of these courts forms the centre piece of our sports club.

The game combines elements of Lawn Tennis and Squash, but in addition the court has various target areas, sloping roof sections along three of its walls (called penthouses), and some unusual features within the scoring system. These elements combine to ensure both a physical and intellectual challenge quite unlike that of any other racket game.

At Seacourt we have a busy calendar of annual Real Tennis tournaments and competitions for members. In addition we regularly play host to some of the world's top players in competitions such as the National League, Ladies Open and the Seacourt Silver Racquet.

We have full time professionals available for group or individual lessons throughout the week. Come along and find out more about this unique sport - but be prepared to get hooked!

Rackets
Rackets is probably the ultimate racket game. Its challenging pace is a rewarding test of skill for talented players. Our rackets enthusiasts meet regularly - see the club notice boards for latest details.

Squash
Seacourt has four Squash courts (one of which is glass backed) and a Rackets Court.
We operate monthly squash leagues, regular handicap competitions and participate in local county leagues. Our qualified instructors are available for coaching at any level, either individually or in groups.

Badminton
Seacourt has two sports halls, both of which contain badminton courts.
Badminton is a great game for players of any standard and can be enjoyed either as a singles or doubles game. All members are welcome to enter our club tournaments, fun competitions and attend club nights.

Lawn Tennis
Seacourt has two floodlit Lawn Tennis courts.
Lawn Tennis is very active at Seacourt with regular events, fun competitions and serious tournaments.
Coaching is available for Juniors and Adults.

Fitness Centre
Our air conditioned gymnasium has a friendly atmosphere. A qualified fitness instructor is also available to provide fitness assessments or individual programmes.

Licensed Bar and restaurant
We have comfortable and relaxed dining facilities in our Bar and Dining Room. An extensive Bar Snack menu is available at lunchtimes and evenings. Our A la Carte menu is updated regularly and served in the dining room on Thursday and Friday evenings.

Seacourt can also cater for substantial occasions, including weddings and private functions for up to 170 guests.
Our experienced Catering Team regularly host functions in our Bar, Dining Room and adjacent Sports Hall.
