PME - Precision Machining Engineers Ltd is located in South Harrow, England and was established in 1956, manufacturing and designing a wide range of bespoke products, from cigar cutters for Harrods to military equipment for the British Army. When it comes to quality PME has always enjoyed a reputation as ‘best-in-class’ a major advantage that helped to secure lucrative contracts in 1970 with the British Army Catering Corps to manufacture cake decorating equipment; sowing the seeds for the company’s future.

Realising the growth potential in the demand for cake decorating equipment, PME changed its name to PME Sugarcraft Ltd, devoting it’s expertise to the production of high quality cake decorating equipment including Plunger Cutters, a revolutionary design for a Tilting Turntable and the Seamless Stainless Steel Supatubes.

To consolidate this success in 1999 PME merged with Knightsbridge Bakeware Centre to form Knightsbridge PME Ltd (KPME Ltd).

JEM Cutters is based in South Africa and joined KPME in 2011 adding another dimension and wealth of cake decorating expertise. With an engineering background and having manufactured cake decorating equipment for over 30 years plus a division specialising in hand made sugar decorations and BAC certified this has proved to be a great addition.

KPME Ltd is a major player in the world of cake decorating with locations and distribution in the USA (Knightsbridge Global Ltd), South Africa (JEM Pty Ltd) and Hong Kong (Knightsbridge PME (HK) Ltd) as well as the Head Office and main distribution centre based in Enfield, London, England.

With a distribution to over 60 + countries around the world, the tools, cutters and equipment of both PME and JEM are the ‘must have’ brands for most industry professionals. With an ever growing interest in cake decorating many new enthusiasts are discovering that there are no substitutes when it comes to quality and innovation.

Education at its best
The Knightsbridge PME School of Cake Decorating was launched in 2004 with a mission to share its extensive knowledge of cake decorating and with the help of highly talented teachers including international authors, judges, contributors to magazines and gold medal winners has grown to be one of the largest independent schools in the UK, regularly attracting students from around the world. Our school in Enfield, London provides a large air conditioned classroom with flat screen televisions to ensure that no detail is missed and in recent years schools have also been added in Romford, London and to both of our facilities in the USA and South Africa ensuring and ever growing sharing of skills and knowledge.

PME Professional Diploma was introduced in 2006 providing a certificate course, divided into three modules, Sugarpaste, Sugar Flowers and Royal Icing & Piping with a Masters certificate awarded when all three modules have been successfully completed. The growth, demand and interest in these courses has been amazing and to date are now being taught by PME approved teachers in over 50 countries.

Cakeit With the popularity of education online 2013 saw the launch of this new brand specifically designed to cater for this new market of online learners. The website provides free videos, recipes and advice as well as the tutorials to accompany the Cakeit Kits.

In 2014 the Cakeit magazine was born, a free quarterly magazine that is designed to embrace the world of cake decorating for all of the family. With easy to follow projects, fun ideas and step by step instructions designed to hold your hold from the very beginning and guide you along the road to success.
