General information

The Mayne Gallery, in Fore Street, Kingsbridge, has been owned and run by Jane and Graham for over 17 years. Where does the time go?

Jane has strived to place the gallery on the map as a friendly, relaxed place to visit and spend a little time browsing for that special piece.

We have a very talented stable of artists who regularly produce new work for the gallery all year round. We also ensure there are new artists each spring and summer. This season sees new work from established names such as John Donaldson, Howard Birchmore, Caroline Appleyard, Lesley Dabson and Gerry Miles. New artists include David Chambers, Marine Artist, Jane Grovenor, painter of butterflies, Roy Lang, painting life and he sees it locally and stone sculptor Viv Astling.

Add to this, the display of hand fused glass, hand made jewellery and a wide selection of limited edition prints and there's something for everyone.

Graham is the framer, working alongside Rose, who has worked with us for over twelve years and is solely responsible for keeping Graham in check and the workshop running smoothly. Sophie, one of our daughters, works in the gallery and is producing wonderful fresh styles in fused glass.

Customer framing is very important to us and we love to spend time designing pieces. Even more enjoyable is seeing the customer's reaction when they come into the gallery to collect the finished work. We only use materials that are of a conservation standard to protect whatever you want framed. We also ensure that the majority of our framing mouldings is produced from wood forested from sustainable sources.
