When the Woodford Group was started in 1991 as a two-vehicle rental agency, it was founded on principles of service excellence and value-for-money. More than two decades later, after flourishing into the largest privately owned car hire company in South Africa, Woodford is still committed to these values.

Woodford now has a fleet of over a thousand vehicles and operates from seven locations, including all four of South Africa’s major airports. The head office of the Woodford Group at Mahogany Ridge in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal is the heart of the company, and the centre from which the commercial fleet extends to all corners of the country.

The Group offers three divisions that cover everything from truck and car rentals to logistics and services, providing flexibility for every need of the consumer in the vehicle market.

A family-owned business, the company is BEE compliant and is committed to growing the tourism industry in South Africa by working closely with government divisions and the Airports Company of South Africa (ACSA) to provide travelers with an enjoyable, hassle-free experience when visiting the country.

The end of 2012 capped a highly successfully year for Woodford as the company was lauded for its customer service and competitive pricing when a clean sweep was made of ACSA’s annual feather awards, winning Best Car Rental at the three largest airports in the country.
