Freteleven is Canada's premier boutique guitar shop. We specialize exclusively in boutique guitar gear and qualified professional guitar and music instruction because we are driven by a passion to help guitarists overcome some of the challenges in pursuing excellent sound and skill. Music Instructors Who Teach as Well As They Play It isn’t easy to find consistent and qualified guitar instruction. Many well-known music stores will hire instructors based on playing experience (a very important component to be sure) with little regard to what and how they are teaching. While these instructors may be skilled players, they cannot articulate the why behind what they do, or draw on the rich cross-
pollination that occurs throughout genres over time.

Freteleven instructors have extensive playing experience (both on the stage and in the studio) as well as a highly developed musicality and theoretical foundation. We have been developing our own curriculum for over two decades to create a highly effective program for guitar education that, combined with your dedication and hard work, just works.

A major limitation facing many musicians is location. Finding competent instructors can be hard enough, but if you live in a rural community where access to qualified instructors is limited, or you are a single-vehicle family with a demanding schedule, the problem multiplies. At Freteleven we feel that everyone deserves access to quality instruction, and to meet such challenges head-on we now offers one-on-one lessons via streaming video chat. Now anyone from Nunavut to Newfoundland to New Brighton can meet with a skilled instructor, sans the commute.
