General information

My Avon journey began when I was 14 years old growing up on the country (then known as the boondocks). I was so excited to work and make money and didn’t want to wait until I was 16! I became an independent Avon representative (set up in my mom’s name). I would have my tan Avon bag slung over my shoulder, filled with brochures and samples and would walk through the woods in order to get to the people that would soon be my regular customers. My mom would drive me into town so that I could attend the monthly Avon meetings that were held at the local hotel conference room. I completely enjoyed being an Avon representative. Also, as a side note, my mother and father both had businesses of their own; so, I believe being an entrepreneur was in my blood.

Well……I turned 16….started driving….had lots of friends (that weren’t independent Avon representatives). Needless to say, I wasn’t selling Avon any longer. I became a waitress and had tons of fun with my friends. I graduated high school; spent the summer near the beach…worked in a bank. Then, I joined the military. Yes, I was a paratrooper in the US Army for 4 years!

Continuing with life I got married, had a baby…..wanted to be a stay at home mom. Guess what I did?? That’s right! I became an independent Avon representative. I quickly made it to the 40% earning level. This was well before online selling and I quickly realized that I was pounding the pavement in the evenings and not enjoying life with my family. So, I did other work from home jobs and eventually went into the corporate world.

I am always reading and learning….oh! I finally completed my college degree in 2016. I have a BS Degree in Business Intelligence with a concentration in Project Management. I was recently listening to a webinar about how to build my financial fortress. One of the bullet points in the webinar was that everyone should be in network marketing. I thought that was a bit silly; but, about a week later my interest in Avon was suddenly resparked! Wow! With the Internet and online selling things have changed tremendously.

I’ve changed corporate jobs a few times within the past ten years because of the economy and company downsizing and outsourcing; things I do not have any control over. Avon has been around for over 100 years and has top selling beauty products around the world….they must be doing something right. I really believe in Avon and I feel that Avon provides the best tools for the independent Avon representative to be successful.

Third time is a charm! My goal is to make as many people as possible aware of Avon products and have access to purchase Avon products (from me) either on the Internet or in person (locally). I would also like to recruit and help people that are interested in selling Avon succeed. From my past experience with Avon and my tenure in the corporate world I have the maturity and experience to be successful myself and to help others be successful as well. My college degree has helped me gain the knowledge in business management, marketing and analyzing numbers (to see what works and what doesn’t) and also to manage projects effectively….personal selling, Internet selling, personal website, blogging….et cetera.
