Company Overview
William J. Van Allen originally started this Culligan Franchise in 1948 servicing the Sheboygan County area. Richard G. Kaat was employed by Mr. Van Allen in 1968 as Sales Manager and subsequently purchased the business from Mr. Van Allen in 1973. The company grew and in 1979 a new plant was built, replacing the previous garage and allowing for continued growth. In 1981 the dealership in Manitowoc became available and Mr. Kaat purchased it- adding Manitowoc, Calumet, and Kewaunee Counties to our service area. On January 1, 1989, the business was changed from a sole proprietorship to a corporation under the name of Kaat’s Water Conditioning, Inc. with Richard G. Kaat being the majority stock holder/President. On January 9th 1996 Richard G. Kaat, President of Kaat’s Water Conditioning, Inc., sold all of his stock (John, Tim, and Stephen Kaat also sold their stock) to Jeff L. and Sandra L. Kaat. The name of the corporation stayed as Kaat’s Water Conditioning, Inc. On January, 1st 1999 Kaat’s Water Conditioning purchased all the assets of Charlie’s Diamond Soft Water, Inc. located in the Manitowoc area. On March 27th 2001 Kaat’s Water Conditioning, Inc. purchased all the assets of Culligan Appleton, WI. On June 11, 2003 Kaat’s Water Conditioning, Inc. purchased all of the assets of Culligan Grand Rapids, Michigan and WaterCare Systems Grand Rapids, Michigan.

He has the knowledge and know-how to service and repair any type of water treatment and any brand of water softener, water filtration system or drinking water system. He also knows how to make sure you’re getting the best possible water by performing basic water quality testing in your home. He can also work with our accredited analytical lab for advanced testing. Ask about our Culligan Service Agreements for the most convenient and reliable service, repair or maintenance for your water treatment system.

Culligan Water Treatment & Testing
• In-home basic water testing for chlorine, sulfur, water hardness, iron, and other contaminants.
• Certified laboratory testing in Rosemont, Illinois. Your Culligan Man will provide you with a complete kit for shipping water overnight directly to our labs.
• Annual well water testing at Culligan’s lab.
• Specialty testing for specific concerns or when purchasing a new home where well water or other non-municipal supplies are used.
• Water treatment service from your local Culligan man.
