General information

Id like to take moment and introduce myself. I am Angie of Tangie.

For as long as I can remember, I have had sensitivities to many store bought products. I’m not exactly sure when I began to realize that ingredients could be the problem, but I do know it didn’t take long before I began creating my own “recipes” for body and household products. It started easy with vinegar and water to clean my windows.
I began reading about petroleum-based ingredients.

I didn’t need a degree in rocket science to figure out that I was WEARING those PETRO-CHEMICALS EVERYDAY. Gross! Then came the laundry soap.

My first recipes were straight off the internet. You’ve probably seen it; the mix of Borax, Washing Soda and Fels Naptha soap. At that time, according to the internet; that was how to make “natural laundry soap”. I believed the internet for awhile. Then one day, I stumbled upon REAL natural ingredients. I’m talking yucca root, hazelnuts and soap nuts. Yep, I would start washing my clothes with nuts and berries. LOL! Why not? For 1,000’s of years before me, that’s what people did.

My interest was peaked as high as Mount Everest.

I scoured the internet and library for details. I watched several documentaries about on history and ingredients. Here are just a few documentaries that opened my eyes to making small changes. Little did I know at the time, that what I was learning would eventually hone my eco-skills into a daily eco-warrior.

THE MORE I LEARNED, THE MORE I REWORKED…

I had to rework my laundry formulation after learning all this new information. It felt good putting the ancient cleaning ingredients to use. I formulated and husband washed load after load after load after load….testing and retesting my new formulas. When finally, I did it…no more borax or washing soda…or Fels Naptha! The new formula emerged from the washing machine like a Phoenix rising from the ashes — ok, so maybe it was more like a clean shirt emerging from the dryer. Either way, it had emerged and it was here to stay!

I am extremely proud of my efforts to get a liquid laundry soap into a concentrated paste form. There is nothing like it on the market. No excess water weight, no excessive plastic containers to throw away each month. The effectiveness and affordability is awesome; which also applies to our Stain Remover Bar and Shave Cream Soap.
